The doc spelt out elaborate plans for monitoring, analysis, reporting, financing, advocacy, and sensitization for the SDGs within the subsequent decade.
An announcement signed by Janet McDickson, Head of Communications, Workplace of the Senior Particular Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on SDGs, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire as saying that, “As Nigeria develops a successor growth plan to the Financial Restoration and Progress Plan, ERGP in 2020, the mainstreaming of the SDGs into the medium and long-term growth plans is crucial. The SDGs are being mainstreamed and built-in into the varied thematic areas of the Plan.
“Consequently, SDGs’ implementation and its monitoring shall hinge on the plan processes. On this ‘Decade of Motion’ for the worldwide objectives, Nigeria will undertake ‘holistic cum heuristic’ approaches and can proceed to make the most of nationwide growth planning as the first instrument to drive SDGs implementation,” she acknowledged.
The Presidential aide added that the Nigerian authorities has demonstrated robust dedication within the total implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable growth, stressing that institutional frameworks have been established on the nationwide and sub-national ranges to assist efficient implementation of the worldwide objectives.
